Susan Sandage is a nationally certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She has earned a Master of Oriental Medicine (M.S.O.M.) from Southwest Acupuncture College, a Doctorate of Acupuncture (D.Ac.) from the Won Institute of Graduate Studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts & Science (B.A. & B.S.) in nursing from Kent State University. She is licensed to practice acupuncture in Texas and Virginia. Susan’s journey to Eastern medicine began with a life-altering recovery from rheumatoid arthritis at age 29 after eleven weeks of acupuncture treatments. This short-term illness was not the typical trajectory known by Western medical standards for rheumatoid arthritis. Many years later, Susan attended acupuncture college to learn the mysteries of this incredible medicine and share it with others. After working as an RN for over 25 years, today Susan describes her profession as an acupuncturist and herbalist as the most rewarding career imaginable. The body can heal itself if Qi is flowing properly, and acupuncture and herbal formulas help regain this balanced flow. Susan enjoys relaxing with family in Austin, Texas, yoga, hiking, meditating, making herbal salves, and tennis when not in the clinic.
